MACOMB (WGEM) - Macomb Police Department reported they received a call to assist a McDonough County Sheriff’s Office deputy. The deputy reported a stored gun was negligently discharged in the McArthur School parking lot.

According to MPD’s Facebook post, they believe the MCSO deputy stored a loaded weapon. MPD believe that, when the gun was bumped, it discharged.

MPD are reminding everyone to practice safe firearm storage and transportation.
