Three weeks have been completed in Newsday’s High School Football Fantasy League, and the race for first is tight. Team Matias (651 points) has surged to the top. Team Slawson is second at 650 and Team Sicoli sits in third at 630.

“Football has always been big for us, but now with this league it feels like there is more interest and everyone is enjoying it,” Chris Matias said.

“My team started off a little slow, but somehow, some way they let me get [Farmingdale’s] Josh Kama in the draft and he’s been great, and the rest of my team has also been great.”

Team Matias had another week surpassing 200 points. Kama collected 58 points in another stellar performance.
