MISSOURI. (KFVS) - With cold, flu, and RSV season starting, Missouri hospitals are gearing up for more patients.

One way hospitals are preparing is through hands-on training.

MU Health’s Mobile Clinical Simulator allows health care professionals to learn how to handle difficult scenarios before they face them in real life. It offers ongoing education to health care providers in rural areas and can be customized to fit their needs.

During the simulations, Education Outreach Coordinator Riley Witte controls the mannequins from behind a one-way mirror. They can breathe, talk, and have some human anatomy.

“We partner with local educators to provide training that’s relevant and what they think will be most useful for their providers,” Witte said.
