Pennsylvania - Fall fires are more likely this year due to dry forest conditions. Pennsylvania's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is warning residents to exercise caution when burning anything outdoors in the coming weeks.
Other than the spring months, the department says October and November pose the greatest wildfire danger to the area.
Pennsylvania residents, visitors and campers are encouraged to:
- Clear the area around any fire site before lighting.
- Keep fires small and never leave them unattended.
- Consider the conditions: avoid starting fires if it's warm, dry, or windy, and clear the surrounding area of leaves and other combustibles.
