NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A broad area of low pressure over the Gulf of Mexico will bring some changes to our weather as we head into the weekend.
Persistent east winds will strengthen through Saturday, leading to rougher seas and Small Craft Advisory conditions on the water. Those easterly winds will also push Gulf water onto our east-facing shores, which means minor coastal flooding is expected along parts of southeast Louisiana—including the tidal lakes—and into Hancock County, Mississippi. Water levels could rise 1 to 2 feet above normal during afternoon and early evening high tides Friday through Sunday.
