Library parking limits form of self-sabotage

Keep the library free! For well over a decade, downtown library parking has been free for those with library cards. Now they want to limit us to three hours, a massive cutback from the current eight free hours.

They want us anxiously checking our phones while we should be disconnecting and perusing library books. They want us to memorize our license plate numbers and hand them over every visit.

The library has given us contradicting statements for months. They don’t know how or if this will work. The change has already been delayed multiple times. They clearly haven’t thought this through.

Why limit library usage? ACPL’s funding is decided by how much it’s used. This move is self-sabotage. We want a robust, well-funded library.
