PALMER LAKE, Colo. (KKTV) -The Town of Palmer Lake will soon be voting on whether a proposed Buc-ee’s could be built in the town along I-25.

The Board of Trustees held a meeting Thursday night, where they decided not to move forward with their own vote on the annexation and rezoning decisions, and instead send the proposal straight to the voters.

The town did not hold a public hearing over the proposal, though they were originally scheduled to.

One member of Tri-Lakes Preservation told 11 News that Thursday’s meeting was frustrating.

“They had an opportunity to end this tonight, and we’re certainly disappointed, but we’re optimistic that this town agrees with the rest of the 30,000 Tri Lakes citizens that this Buc-ee’s doesn’t fit our character of this area.” Tri Lakes Shawn Sawyer sai
