An ABC Freedom of Information (FOI) request has forced the NT opposition leader to disclose she has misused a taxpayer-funded VIP chauffeur service.

The NT government provides the service for all government ministers and the opposition leader, but only for official duties.

On Monday, the ABC obtained FOI documents detailing every VIP trip between February and March.

NT Opposition Leader Selena Uibo subsequently held a press conference on Friday morning to disclose she has misused the service for private use on "several" occasions, since becoming opposition leader in September 2024.

Ms Uibo said the private trips totalled $655, which would be repaid.
