Woodland escaped with a victory after a wild 14-round penalty kick shootout for a 3-2 win over Mark Morris in a 2A Greater St. Helens League girls soccer match on Thursday.

Carly Coltrin’s first-half goal and Jillian Lutzenberger’s second-half goal for Woodland forced overtime with the Monarchs, which did not decide the match.

In the penalty kick shootout, the two teams went through the entire 11-player lineup and could not break the tie, including one PK goal by goalkeeper Rally McReynolds.

But in their second attempts, Coltrin, Lutzenberger and Lovie Christopher each converted to give Woodland the win.
