For as long as many can remember, rain has plagued the first day of the Burnie Show and Agri Expo .

However, for 2025, the sun shone, and blue skies welcomed crowds of thrilled attendees who flocked into the Agriplex at Romaine on Friday.

As of 2.30pm on Friday, more than 2000 people had walked through the gates, compared to a total of 800 who attended on Friday last year.

Among the crowd was the Berechree family: Lee, her daughter Georgia, and her grandson, Ethan.

"I've had Ethan, my grandson, for the day, and I just wanted to bring him out and let him experience the show," Lee Berechree said.

This was the six-year-old's first show, having just moved from Western Australia.

"He's loved it, but he wants everything," Ms Berechree laughed.
