SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – As ballots make their way to Spokane County voters, important deadlines are approaching. Local elections, according to Spokane County Auditor Vicky Dalton, are crucial because decisions made at this level impact residents directly.
“So these are city council members or mayors who make a decision about law enforcement. And if that pothole is going to get fixed or not,” Dalton said. “These are people who serve on school boards that determine what kind of courses and topics are going to be taught in schools, whether or not they’re going to be able to afford support for the students, like such things as free lunches.”
