A fresh western disturbance is likely to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms to northwest India between Sunday and Tuesday, with peak intensity on Monday, the India Meteorological Department has said.
Very heavy rainfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi on Monday.
Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during this period.
Hailstorms are likely to occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab on Sunday and Monday, and in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on Monday.
The weather department added that the fresh weather systems are likely to delay the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon, The Indian Express reported.
