Pro-Palestinian activists have been asked to consider if holding a massive anti-Israel protest on the Sydney Opera House forecourt will be safe or practical.
The Palestinian Action Group has applied to hold a rally on October 12, starting in Hyde Park and tracking through the CBD to the building's forecourt.
The event is set to be held days after the second anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attacks.
NSW Police have taken legal action in the NSW Supreme Court to stop the gathering at the famous site, citing safety concerns about the number of people who may attend and the potential for "crowd crush".
During a brief hearing on Friday afternoon, Justice Des Fagan acknowledged the protesters wanted to hold their rally in a well-renowned location but questioned the practicality of holding
