The Government of Goa has unveiled an ambitious initiative, the Goa Startup Policy 2025, which seeks to establish 1,000 startups in the state and generate employment for 10,000 Goans. It also has specific provisions aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs, an official announced on Friday.

Designed to transform Goa into India's "creative capital," the policy aims to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem by linking startups with venture funding and fostering collaborations with government bodies, industry stakeholders, and educational institutions. Currently, Goa boasts 696 DPIIT-recognized startups, according to the Department of State Information Technology, Electronics and Communication (DITEC).
