An employee from India shared an upsetting experience of being suddenly laid off by a US-based company during a short work call. The post, shared on Reddit, has drawn attention from many people who have offered support and even job referrals. According to the employee, there was no warning or prior notice about the layoffs.

The worker explained that they were working from home as usual when the event happened. It was a normal morning, logging in at 9 am, until a calendar invite appeared for 11 am for a mandatory meeting with the company’s COO.
