The country music world was rocked by Raul Malo’s cancer revelation last week, but you have to give him and his group, The Mavericks, credit for being as tough and inspiring as they come.

For instance, the first post to the group’s Instagram following the announcement came on Wednesday, and fans couldn’t help but show love.

The band shared on Instagram a photo from behind of Malo, wearing a Tennessee Titans jersey with his name on the back, walking down a hallway. It used Muhammad Ali quote as the caption: “Don’t count the days, make the days count.”

Again, fans felt it, and they let the band know it in the replies.
