A now-deleted tweet by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) showing a recently resurfaced cratered road in Dharavi triggered severe backlash on social media.

The post, which included photos of the repair on the road in Mumbai’s Kunchi Korve Nagar, was meant to highlight the completion of maintenance but instead drew sharp criticism for the poor quality of work.

It all started with a social activist flagging the damaged road in a post on June 2 as Er Ataul Khan shared pictures and warned that the uneven surface and central pothole were causing “huge jerks” for vehicles.

The official Ward GN BMC account initially assured that the complaint had been conveyed to the concerned department.
