Mangaluru: The ‘Shobhayatra’ procession of Goddess Sharada, organized by the Kudroli Shri Gokarnanatha Temple, brought the curtains down on the famous annual Mangaluru Dasara celebrations early Friday morning.

The ‘Shobhayatra’ commenced on Thursday evening at the Kudroli Temple and covered a total of 9 kilometres. It passed through prominent places like Mannagudda, Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill), Lalbagh, Ballalbagh, PVS Circle, KS Rao Road, Hampankatta, Ganapati High School Road, Car Street and Alake, before returning to Kudroli Temple.

Thousands of devotees participated in the procession, in which artistes performed the conventional ‘pilivesha’ (tiger dance). Cultural shows and 70 tableaux related to not only Kudroli but also other institutes added splendor to the ‘Shobhayatra’.
