Amelia Earhart's long-lost Electra 10E plane might finally have been discovered after researchers have “very strong” evidence that it is in a lagoon. Earhart was attempting to fly around the world with navigator Fred Noonan when they disappeared in 1937. ‌

They left Lae Airfield in Papua New Guinea at 10am local time on July 2. They were preparing for a 20-hour flight to Howland Island in the central Pacific Ocean.
