Detectives Discovered the Remains Sept. 9 at a South L.A. Tow Yard

Following the discovery of a body in the trunk of a vehicle at a South Los Angeles tow yard, a woman has been arrested on a murder charge, authorities said Thursday. Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit found the deceased person on September 9 while conducting a follow-up related to a separate missing person investigation at a facility in the 1900 block of West Gage Avenue.

This case is not the case of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 15-year-old found in a Tesla trunk in a Hollywood tow yard. Her body was found on September 8.

The case was transferred to the Robbery-Homicide Division’s Homicide Special Section, which served search warrants at multiple locations on Sept. 16. That same day,
