Bandipora, Oct 3: The higher reaches of Gurez Valley witnessed the season’s first light snowfall on Friday morning, with Kilshay Top in Tulail peaks wearing a fresh white cover. While the plains of Gurez Valley received rainfall, the early snow has signaled the onset of colder days in Bandipora district.
In response to the changing weather, the Bandipora district administration on Friday issued an advisory warning people of heavy snowfall, rainfall, and related hazards in the coming days. The advisory raised particular concern for higher reaches such as Razdan Pass, where heavy snowfall is expected. Mid-elevation areas are likely to receive light snow, while the plains may see moderate rainfall.
