In the 2020s era of the WNBA, the Las Vegas Aces have arguably been the league's tentpole team. They have four-time MVP A'ja Wilson at the peak of her powers. They have a deep, complementary squad featuring other stars like Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray.

It's no wonder they're in the 2025 WNBA Finals against the Phoenix Mercury. This is simply what the Aces do.

This isn't the Aces' first championship rodeo, to be clear. The Aces appeared in both the 2022 and 2023 WNBA Finals, defeating the Connecticut Sun and New York Liberty, respectively, to go back-to-back. Gray was the series MVP in 2022 while Wilson took those esteemed honors in 2023.

So, yes. That means after a brief one-year hiatus in 2024, this iteration of the Aces is playing for the WNBA championship for the third time in four seasons. What a run of consistent excellence all around. We'll see whether Wilson and Co. can overcome Alyssa Thomas's Mercury to really ignite the "dynasty" conversation we know would be inevitable.
