As Durga Pujo ends, both the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bengal have started gearing up for the state assembly elections.

While the BJP’s leaders have arrived in the state to chalk out a strategy, the TMC has planned a mega outreach programme through Bijoya Sammelani.

News18 had earlier reported how Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah is likely to spend 8-10 days in the state every month till the elections are over.

The West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections for all 294 seats is expected to be held in March-April 2026. In the last assembly election in 2021, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) won 213 seats.
