The search for missing four-year-old August “Gus” Lamont has entered its sixth day, and has now changed from a rescue operation to a recovery one.
A single footprint found on Tuesday night sparked hope, but South Australian Police warn the clock is ticking.
The print was found just 500m from where Gus was last seen playing outside his family’s remote sheep station, and matches the boots he was wearing when he vanished.
On the sixth day of the search, police released a photo of the curly-haired boy wearing a Peppa Pig shirt saying: ‘My Mummy’.
Gus went missing after 5pm on Saturday, triggering a massive search across the family’s 60sqkm property, 40km south of Yunta in South Australia ’s Mid North.
The terrain is harsh, with dense scrub, rocky outcrops, and outback-like conditions.
