PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria County’s celebrating its bicentennial with a block party this weekend.
County Board Member Rob Reneau says Saturday’s event downtown will include food trucks, live music and all kinds of fun.
“We’ll be on the Courthouse Plaza, and then floating down Main Street and Adams Street,” Reneau says.
He tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” the celebration will reunite the “heard” of 35 fiberglass bison sculptures “adopted” by businesses throughout the county this year. More are expected to be added over the next few months.
“We’ll also have lots of stuff for kids to do. We’re bringing in a giant slide that will be on Adams Street, we’ll have a rock wall, we have the Farm Bureau sponsoring a petting zoo, we have Pop-A-Shots and Bags,” Reneau says.
