Congress leader Rahul Gandhi found himself in the eye of a political storm after his remarks on why cars are heavier than motorcycles drew sharp criticism from the BJP.

Speaking to students at EIA University in Envigado, Colombia, Gandhi tried to explain the weight difference, but BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya dismissed his explanation as “gibberish.”

Gandhi posed a curious question to the students, “To carry one passenger, you need 3,000 kg of metal in a car, while a 100-kg motorcycle carries two passengers. So why is a motorcycle able to carry two passengers with 150 kg of metal, and a car needs 3,000 kg?”

The Congress MP answered his own question by linking it to vehicle safety and the transition to electric mobility.
