Start Me Up Niagara has named its new executive director taking over later this month.

Kelly-Ann Salerno was named Start Me Up Niagara’s (SMUN) new executive director in a media release Thursday.

Salerno takes over responsibility for the agency as of Oct. 14, and said she hopes to lead the agency into a new era.

“I am humbled and grateful to be given the opportunity to walk alongside the staff and participants of SMUN and will continue to give the people a voice at the table where they often are not invited,” said Salerno, in the media release.

It comes after five years of leadership under Laura Dumas, who decided to step away from the agency after “a long process” for personal reasons.

“We are thrilled to embark on this new chapter for SMUN,” said the outgoing executive director.
