It didn’t seem terribly farfetched. Earlier this week, the popular What’s Poppin NOLA Instagram site reposted a TikTok video produced by a muscle-shirt-wearing young man who claimed that during the disruptive roadwork going on in the French Quarter, two coffins were unearthed.
“You want to hear some crazy New Orleans insider scoop stuff,” the TikToker known as "himroids" conspiratorially asked, as he strode outside the barricaded St. Peter Street construction site. “Right where I’m standing,” he continued, “two coffins came up the other day, like last week.”
The TikTok reporter said that though the coffins hadn’t yet made the news, he’d heard it from “a reputable” source.
An administrator at What’s Poppin NOLA cautioned viewers to take the posting “with a grain of salt.” Nonetheless
