Indian Air Force Chief AP Singh on Friday contradicted the claims of tech billionaire Elon Musk that unmanned technologies like drones are the future of warfare. The Air Chief Marshal said that manned platforms will also remain relevant when it comes to warfighting.
Describing his analogy, he said, “The importance of man, as of now and as I can see in the foreseeable future, is not going to fade away.”

He admitted that unmanned systems will exist, but clarified that they would either have to work in collaboration with manned systems or be controlled by humans. “So the relevance of fighters will remain in the years to come,” he stated.
