Allianz Global Assistance Canada has launched an expanded telemedicine service that allows insured travellers in more than 80 countries to quickly book virtual or in-person medical care.
Developed in partnership with digital health platform Air Doctor, the initiative aims to make access to treatment abroad faster and less complicated, while cutting down on the financial and administrative hurdles that can accompany medical claims.
Customers with eligible travel medical insurance will receive details by email before departure, including a link to a co-branded Allianz-Air Doctor website and app. Non-emergency cases can be scheduled for virtual or in-person consultations, including with multilingual doctors, with local prescriptions arranged where available.
