PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man is behind bars after deputies say he tried to disguise himself as a Walmart worker during an early morning break-in.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the Port Angeles Walmart just after two a.m. Wednesday on a report of a burglary in progress. An employee told dispatchers that a man—described as in his 50s, balding, wearing glasses and a gray shirt—was trying to force his way inside.

Deputies say the suspect, 47-year-old Gregory T. Shultz, entered the store through an employee entrance while wearing a Walmart vest with a nametag reading “Greg.” Workers immediately recognized he wasn’t an employee and confronted him.
