MOSS POINT, Miss. (WLOX) - Moss Point city leaders selected Dennis Stevenson as interim police chief on Thursday.
This comes following the resignation of Chief Brandon Ashley, whose last day is Friday, October 3. Stevenson will take over the role on Saturday, October 4.

Stevenson’s law enforcement experience includes time with the Biloxi Police Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
In the meantime, the search for a permanent police chief continues. It is expected to take between 30 and 45 days, though Mayor Billy Knight emphasized the city will prioritize finding the right candidate over meeting strict deadlines.
