Eagle-eyed supporters will have spotted that a Leeds United player sent out on loan was involved in a Whites academy match on Friday afternoon.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Rory Mahady, 19, had joined National League club Scunthorpe United on a youth loan. He subsequently made his career senior debut in the team’s 3-1 win over York City on the same night.

Mahady - who travelled to Germany with the Leeds first-team for their pre-season camp in July - was then named in the Leeds under-21s team that drew 2-2 with West Bromwich Albion in Premier League 2 this afternoon (October 3).
