SMRRs are a new generation of nuclear technology being developed to meet future energy needs.

New Delhi: At least six private sector companies, including Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries and Gautam Adani Group’s Adani Power, have expressed interest in setting up the Bharat Small Modular Reactor (BSMR) and have identified 16 potential sites in six states. The six companies that have responded to Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited’s (NPCIL) proposal to install small modular reactors also include Jindal Steel & Power, Tata Power, Hindalco Industries, and JSW Energy.

Consideration of 16 sites
