The NEXT Weather Team has issued a Next Weather Alert Day for Friday due to the risk of flash flooding .

Rain gauges say rainbands dropped widespread 1-3" overnight, with isolated spots up to 5". That heavy rain overnight set up the stage for additional flooding as storms redevelop this afternoon and evening

Rounds of rainfall starting this afternoon could continue overnight. Some areas in the Coastal metro could end up with 4-6" between Friday and Saturday.

The Weather Prediction Center has issued a Level 1 out of 4 Flash Flooding Risk for most of the metroplex.

The rains are part of a multi-day event that will cause several inches of cumulative rain across both Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
