SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Morning commuters are likely to come across soggy roads Friday in Northern California as rain could continue in some areas.
Meteorologist Tamara Berg also noticed dozens of lightning strikes across Sutter, Colusa and Glenn counties overnight. Showers and thunderstorms have been passing through the region throughout the night.
Areas north of Sacramento saw the most thunderstorm activity, but by later in the day, Berg said this wet weather system should be gone. The Sacramento Valley is expected to be clear by noon.
However, the Foothills and Sierra may still see showers and isolated thunderstorms into late afternoon.
These are the estimated rain amounts for Friday.
Valley: Trace amounts to 0.15 inches of rain
Foothills: A quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain
