NEW YORK (WABC) -- Don't get ghosted on good buys this October, because you'll be haunted with buyer's remorse if you purchase items when they're not on sale.

7 On Your Side has your best bets for "spooktacular" savings, as savvy shopper know to wait until late in the month for discounted décor, candy and costumes.

"Everything is going to start going on sale closer to Halloween. So, if you can wait until the last week of Halloween to buy your costume and candy," said Andrea Woroch, a consumer shopping expert.

Experts advise that customers should time their purchases by targeting deal days.

Target Circle Week begins October 5, Kohl's fall sales kicks off October 6 and Walmart's "Deals Days" run between October 7-12.
