ST. LOUIS - KDHX 88.1 FM, a longtime St. Louis community radio station, is officially off the air.
Double Helix Corporation, a nonprofit that owned KDHX, says online the station has "ceased operations."
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the corporation sent a newsletter to subscribers and announced it would not be producing any programs until late 2026 or early 2027.
In March, Double Helix Corporation filed for bankruptcy, which stemmed from a period when KDHX lost dozens of volunteer disc jockeys due to firings or walkouts, losing a significant amount of financial support.
The Post-Dispatch reports that a sale to Gateway Creative Broadcasting is pending approval from the FCC, but is currently on hold due to the government shutdown.
