With winter on the horizon, meteorologists are monitoring the potential weather conditions that await.

On Thursday, AccuWeather issued its long-range winter forecast for 2025-26, and it’s good news for those who hate snow — with an asterisk.

AccuWeather predicts New York City will once again see less snow than usual. However, it added the city could see more snow than it did last year.

Snowfall amounts are predicted to fall below average as AccuWeather foresees storms during mid- to late-winter producing a mix of snow and rain rather than purely the former.

In all, AccuWeather revealed that the city is forecast to receive between 17 and 21 inches of snow through the end of the winter.
