Six hardened criminals including one who was serving a life term, had escaped from Tripura jail
With the arrest of another fugitive, two of the six prisoners who escaped from Dharmanagar Sub-Jail at Kalikapur in North Tripura on last Wednesday morning have been re-captured in joint operations by Dharmanagar police and the Border Security Force (BSF).
One of the escapees, Narayan Chandra Dutta from Feni district of Bangladesh, was nabbed by alert locals with the help of BSF personnel while attempting to cross into Bangladesh through Malakarbasti near the international border.
Earlier, police had caught another fugitive, Abdul Patta of Nilam Bazar in Sreebhumi district of Assam, while he was attempting to flee through West Chandrapur village en route to Assam.
