Kingston city council is to consider applying for provincial money to help pay for damage related to the ice storm that hit the area in late March.

Two days of steady freezing rain left the Kingston area encased in ice , downing trees and power lines, disrupting municipal services, closing local roads and cancelling events .

One person was injured by a falling tree branch during the storm.

City council on Tuesday night is to consider applying to the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing’s municipal ice storm assistance program.
