NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Nicholasville Police Department (NPD) released new information on Friday, shedding light on what led up to the Oct. 2 shooting that left one man dead and a woman injured.
According to a press release, officers had been dispatched around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday to a four-unit apartment complex in the 300 block of Edgewood Drive, where a man was found shot multiple times in the torso and a woman who'd been shot in the arm.
The man, identified by officials as 31-year-old James Milton, was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he died. The woman was said to be the victim's mother, identified as Samantha Milton, and was treated at the same hospital and released.
