Two bridges over the Welland Canal will temporarily close for maintenance next week.

St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corp. said no vehicle or pedestrian traffic will be allowed on the bridges during the work.

The closures are as follows:

Wednesday — Mellanby Avenue Bridge in Port Colborne from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday — Clarence Street Bridge in Port Colborne from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The seaway said it will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to the public while it performs preventive maintenance.

Bridge closures are subject to change.
