CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A trash truck caught on fire in north Charlotte Friday morning.
According to officials , no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
What happened
The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, on Simonton Drive near Eastfield Road.
Crews said a CNG trash truck caught fire but was brought under control within about an hour.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area and yield to emergency vehicles, as the road was expected to remain closed for an extended cleanup. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
