The San Francisco 49ers are off to a solid 4-1 start, with both Mac Jones and Brock Purdy taking snaps through the first five weeks. But as the season moves deeper, the injury bug is starting to take its toll. Their 26-23 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football was no different. The team’s still feeling the effects of players getting hurt.

In the process of their Week 5 win, the Niners lost defensive lineman Kalia Davis to a hand injury. Fast forward to now, and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added another layer to Davis’ injury status. The analyst reported that the DL is undergoing surgery today to repair his broken hand, per sources. On top of that, he could also miss around a couple of games.
