COLORADO CITY, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is temporarily closing the Cuerno Verde Rest Area in Colorado City on Monday.
According to CDOT, the closure is for crews to perform maintenance upgrades, including the replacement of the HVAC system.
The closure will be in place for up to 30 days. The next closest rest area is the El Moro Rest Area in Trinidad.
Variable message signs will be in place to tell drivers about the closures and where the next best place to stop will be, CDOT said.
The rest area will reportedly have dog relief areas, toilets, hand washing as well as spots for commercial and passenger vehicles when it re-opens.
