The Riverside County District Attorney's Office will not file criminal charges in connection with the Festival of Lights Parade crash that injured at least 10 people in December 2024 in Palm Springs, the office told The Desert Sun.

"The investigation did not show that this was a criminal matter, and it is instead being handled through the civil process," DA spokesperson Molly Smith said in an email. "Because it is a civil matter, it will be handled outside of the District Attorney’s Office."
