Around 30,000 runners are descending on the streets of Glasgow this weekend as the Great Scottish Run returns to the city. While Storm Amy has already resulted in the cancellation of Saturday's children's events, the adults' 10K and half marathon races are to go ahead for the moment. ‌

The 10k run starts at 8.30am on Sunday, October 5, and supporters will be lining the streets with their umbrellas to spectate their runner friends and family members throughout the day. But with such a large-scale event, 74 roads are to be closed off to make way for the amateur athletes, reports Glasgow Live. ‌

Screeds of streets are set to be shut for varying time periods with most closures beginning as early as 5am, which is bound to cause traffic delays around the city. ‌
