BALA CYNWYD, Pa. (WPVI) -- Action News has learned that multiple arrests have been made in connection with an investigation into armored truck robberies in the Philadelphia region.

According to officials, it all began when a suspect vehicle was allegedly approaching a Brink's truck in Bala Cynwyd shortly before noon on Friday when it was spotted by law enforcement.

The driver of that vehicle then took off, sparking a police chase.

A short time later, a perimeter was established in the area of Snowden Road after officials say at least one of the suspects was spotted nearby.

Superintendent Andy Block, from the Lower Merion Township Police Department, says they were notified of three men in a car that were allegedly heavily armed, according to witness accounts.
