ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

The first day of Balloon Fiesta could have some wind impact Saturday morning's mass ascension.

A cold front is forecast to move through the Albuquerque metro early Saturday morning.

Winds could kick up between 10 and 15 mph.

If the predicted cold front moves through Albuquerque before daybreak, winds could be coming from the east. If the cold front stalls north of Albuquerque, winds would blow from the south to north.

There could also be stronger winds aloft with only a few thousand feet for balloons to fly before they hit stronger winds.
